So, Schiff made an utter fool of himself today.
As NPR’s Scott Simon reports, “Ambassadors serve at the pleasure of the president, and they represent a particular administration's foreign policy. Wasn't President Trump well within his rights to call back his ambassador from the Ukraine?”
It was well within President Trump’s rights to “at his discretion remove an inferior officer whose term is limited by statute, or one appointed with the consent of the Senate.”
Even in Schiff’s opening statement he admitted, “Some have argued that a president has the ability to nominate or remove any ambassador he wants - that they serve at the pleasure of the president - and that is true.”
